I have a 95 sportage. When cold, it will start fine but will only idle roughly. If I give it any gas at all, it dies. After it runs a while with this rough idle, I can finally give it some gas and it starts to work normal. It did this some last year and i thought it was fixed but now that its getting colder its back. If the mtor is warm then it gives no problem. Any Ideas?

Regularman,
I own a 1995 SOHC, it had similar problems. It idled rough, would stall when the air conditioning was on (at idle) and had a lack of power. It turned out to be valve adjustment. The SOHC motors need to be adjusted.
If nothing else is correcting your problem, I would adjust them (they need to be adjusted anyway) Who knows when they were adjusted last !

Good Luck,
Dondobe
