I have had my Kia for about 9 months now, and it has about 90,000 miles on it. Lately it has been sputtering (it's always hated being cold started, accelerated, and continuosly shakes, squeaks and rattles), and Tuesday I was coasting to a stop when it just died. The engine turns but misfires. We thought that it could be the fuel pump or filter, but found out it is the timing belt. Can anybody explain what that does, and if anything else needs to be replaced as a result of the broken belt?
thank ya I have taken it to the shop, and so far they are up to $420; they said "hopefully that's gonna take care of it". I'm broke already! Yikes!
