the 1996 sportage i am selling will NOT pass smog. initially the smog guy found the sensor EXITING the catalytic converter was disconnected, he reconnected it and told me to drive drive drive to reset it.
now its about 1500 miles later, check engine light not on, but smog guy keeps saying the sensors have not "reset" and the computer therefore cannot read them. so it does not pass smog. seems a lil excessive to have to drive it that much... one smog guy told me to look into recall #SC005 regarding the ECM but my kia dealership says my car is not included in that particular recall.....i am at a loss
