Please help. My '97 Sportage wont drop the revs when changing gear. It also wont idle at under 1200 revs. It often wont idle under 1500 rpm. What is wrong and how do I fix this? Have searched for info but no info was found. Help please, its a real pain to drive in this situation.

Would it be THIS thread?

Another thing to check for is to make sure that your throttle cable isn't sticking. On my girl's 97, the lever in the engine bay gets gunked up and needs lubing every now and then.
