Anyone know where i can get a high pressure hose for a 98 sportage? the dealer wants $100 just for the hose not installed and i know p/s hoses should only be like 20-40 bucks.. otherwise is there another make of car that takes the same high pressure hose like a toyota or a honda or something?

thanks!

I just got quoted $111.85 at the dealer. It's horrible.....you can buy a pump for $85. I had to replace a side mirror and it cost me $250. I can't even find a repair manual. It was going to cost @ $1200 for my 60k mile maintenance. Everything that I have done with my 03' Optima has been very expensive and parts are hardly available anywhere else but the dealer. I love my car but I am afraid of what will happen when my warranty is up. I think I will trade. If I can find the hose cheaper than the deductable on the repair I will do it myself. Sorry kinda longwinded......I'm new here.
Thank you

Just wanted to let everyone know about my experience this morning. I drove about two hours to the closest dealership to have my power steering hose replaced and they would not even touch my car because I didn't buy the 'FULL WRAP' extended warranty at that dealership. I had to drive an additional hour to where I purchased the car to have it worked on. That is a bunch of bull. When I got there they wanted to charge me an additional $37.50 diagnostics fee. There were several other unhappy customers there. They were charging one lady $500 to replace an altenator on an 02 Spectra.......rediculous. I finally found a repair manual available only at Kia for $85. As I was standing by the front counter I was listening to them talk to the other customers and I was totally shocked at how hard they were trying to get out of covering problems under warranty. Don't get me wrong, I like my car, but I will never buy another Kia. You get a more than decent car for a really good price with what is supposed to be a very good warranty. Where they make their money is on the flipside, charging $112 for a power steering hose, $85 for a manual, $500 for an altenator (installed), $1200 for a 60k mile tune up, and by not covering repairs under warranty and then charging for them because you were a little late on maintenance or didn't use their spark plugs. It just goes to show that you get what you pay for. I did not have these problem with my Chrysler. Good Luck and sorry if I have stepped on anyones toes.
