00 Sportage Wiper Linkage Replacement

Has anyone replaced the wiper linkage in a Kia Sportage? I have a 2000 and wonder if it is necessary to remove the wiper motor to replace the linkage. Any advice?

I'm having the exact same problem the wiper arms don't want to move anymore. When I turn it on I get a rattling sound, and the arms don’t move. I know the fuse is fine because the blades try to move. I’m wondering if it is the threads that moves the blades or the motor that is worn. Does anybody know the cost of changing the motor or changing the metal piece that the threads are on.
