Unhappy

i had a problem yesterday with my kia sportage. i went to the post office and came back to my car and tried starting it but it would not. i figured the battery needed replacing since i was told by walmart that the battery was low. so today i replaced the battery but when i tried starting it i still ended up with the same problem. any idea what is wrong?

Do you have a "no crank" or a "crank but no start" ? Two entirely different things and your post isn't clear. But I'm assuming you have a "no crank" since you replaced the battery. Yes?

Common sources of "no crank": If a stick shift the clutch pedal wasn't depressed all the way. There's an interlock switch. If you don't fully depress the clutch the engine won't crank. Also: if the floor matt gets jammed up under the clutch pedal it won't allow you to fully depress the pedal.

Other cause is a bad starter. Happens quite often. Bad iginition switches have also happen. But before going further post back on what you mean by "no start".
