G`day guys, does anyone out there in Kia land know how to put the 4 digit code into thetre cd/radio. ive tried heaps of times and still no luck , i have the code just dont know how to put it in...also is there a lovely person out there with a owners/users manual fpr a 2000 sportage that wants to sell or give to me?????
any replies would be great

U.S. Spec Sportages stopped using secure audio systems after about 1997 or so.

But I may be able to get you some help. Go to Http://www.4x4wire.com. Click on "trailtalk bbs" and follow the links to the Kia Forums. Post this question and "GaryinOZ", who has an Aussie spec 2002, may be able to talk you thru getting the system back up.

This is from my 2003 Sportage Manual:

E.G. Security code No. 8517
press preset button 1, 8 times and the No.8 appears,
press preset button 2, 5 times and the No.5 appears,(this is getting good!)
press preset button 3, 1 times and the No.1 appears,
press preset button 4, 7 times and the No.7 appears,
(CODE 8517)
NOW PRESS THE "SEL" BUTTON TO ENTER THE NUMBER.
If the correct code has been entered unit should swicth on!
It also sais the following regarding wrong code entry:
If wrong code is entered the unit will switch off. In order to enter the security code again, the unit must be reset then turnrd on again.
It does not mention how to "reset" the radio though.
