Hi Kia Forum members,
My Sportage is a 1994 model, Korean specifications. This is one year prior to the Sportage being available in the United States. I live on a small island in the mid-Pacific where salt spray and lack of parts make owning a vehicle difficult. I am trying to find out from the mechanically inclined if 1994 and 1995 Kia Sportage parts are interchangeable. My vehicle is running fine, but I need to replace a few things to make it more dependable. The body is full of rust but I plan to repair all of this with fiberglass. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand the 1994 and 1995 Sportage are essentially the same. In 1995 Kia started to offer the DOHC engine as an option but the SOHC engine was still available. In 1996 the SOHC engine was dropped.

If you check http://www.kiatechinfo.com and sign in for "1995 Sportage" it should give you the info you need. Also, http://www.helminc.com does have shop manuals for U.S. Spec Sportages and I believe they go all the way back to 1995.

Hope this helps.
