I noticed that too...I downloaded the front brakes, rear brakes, timing belt, blower motor and front strut replacement pages the other day. Even though I have an '06...I'll need those someday.
I also have looked for a printed manual without success. Neither Haynes nor Chilton has issued one for this series of vehicles.
As for help with fixing your timing belt, this forum is full of tips and instructions. Just search for 'timing belt' and you should find all the help you need.
I was looking for a Haynes or Chilton for my 01 Kia Optima but it does not exist. However, the Optima is supposedly the same car as a Hyundai Sonata and there is a Haynes for that. Has anyone ever bought that? Is it really the same car?
Mitchell has a basic Sportage manual that is online. You must buy a subscription for it, but you can download the different sections and save them as a WORD document and they will open after your subscription expires. I think you could also save it as a PDF. Another source for manuals is your local library
Many thanks! I just purchased a 2002 Sportage that has mi nor issues (electrical and brakes) and this will certainly help provide the info needed to solve them.
Thanks Ace but I've tried everthing to download this file and cannot. Its something called an RAR file and I cannot find software to open it. Is it available as a pdf.? Thanks again and sorry to be so needy
The link in post 33 in this thread that says it is the Kia sportage manual still works! I just tried it right now and it still works. You click the link and it automatically starts the download. I get the box that pops up and asks you if you want to open or save the file. Save the file then unzip it with WinRAR or any similar program. It is in PDF form.
and ianmill has an 06 Rio and this is a Sportage manual so I dont think it even applies anymore. But the link is still good!
Use WinRAR or compatible RAR-extractor (see post #30 ) to view/extract files,
Group 00 is the index,
\00SPORTAGEETM is the electrical troubleshooting directory, and contains the PDF files that detail testing procedures,
Use Adobe Acrobat Reader or compatible utility to view the PDF files..
