Cylinder Head Removal Snag

I'm in the process of removing the cylinder head on a 1999 Sportage 16 valve 2.0. I've almost got it off, I can wiggle and lift it a bit from the front, but it seems there's something back towards the firewall (possibly on left side when facing engine) that's still keeping it attached. I can't see much of anything back there either from up top or underneath the car. I tried putting a camera back there, but there's too much glare right now to make out much of anything.

Anyone happen to know what might be holding it up?

I would say burnt as well, overheating and coolant contact with the valve can crack/chip them too, but that chamber would be spotless. Good news is the bottom end of our sportys are diesel design, with a restored cylinderhead and assuming good compression she should run for years more.

Has anyone even heard of this engine having bottom end issues? I've been here years and don't remember anyone with engine knock or main bearing issues.
