Default Bad Alignment

when i bought my sephia the steering wheel was not straight, pulls to the right, i know that means i need an alignment done, but when one wheel is straight, the other side on the front is slightly turned, it came to notice cause it is snowy here and it iced, when i hit ice patches my car turns to the right and catches on the cement and goes straight. any ideas on why its doin this? i just recently installed new coilovers. havent seen anything broken. thanks for any reply's.

When I got my 06 Spectra (salvage) I replaced a broken outer tie rod end on the passenger front (broken)... While driving the car home from Louisville, Kentucky to Massillon, Ohio I found a "secondary" problem that I did not know about. The right rear suspension (front) lateral arm had been bent when the car was moved around the salvage yard by a "pickle fork" (a very large fork lift) causing the the front of the right rear tire to toe in. I experienced the same hair raising problem you are posting.
I ended up driving home the last 30 miles in a snow storm in January at under 10 mph. A very un-nerving and upsetting trip.

Your one of your front outer tie rods is either bent/damaged/or out of alignment... A close look should give you a clue... A quick measurement between the front outer treads and between the rear outer treads of both front tires will allow you adjust one of the outer tie rod ends and "pull" the front end back in reasonably close alignment. Just keep measuring front and back distances until they match. You will need a couple of large open end wrenches (17~22mm in size). You can then safely drive the car for an alignment.
A pretty easy job..

Mine I was able to adjust the right rear wheel as the rear lateral arm was adjustable.
Suspension parts were replaced and my car aligned and it's in perfect alignment.
