gibran Newbie Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 1 Gallery: 0	alternator belt prob on 97 sephia First of all I am new to the forum so hello every one. I have a 97 Sephia LS with the 1.8 dohc. My problem is that the belt was squealing and then broke. I replaced the belt and it started squealing and broke that day. i have now replaced the alternator and the alternator belt. Now I have noticed that when the belt is squealing it is smoking and is getting hot. I have the belt on pretty tight and it seems to squeal at 2000-3000rpm. any help would be a appreciated.
