My 1995 Kia Sephia is having some major strange Engine and/or Electrical Issues....I think? It's really Weird! Four Mechanics have looked at it and have replaced the Fuel Pump, Cleaned The Fuel Injection, Gas Line Cleaned, and One couldn't find anything wrong. But this is what happens.
Ok, after you drive the car around for a while it starts to make creepy idoling noises, kinda like the idoles to low. And if you leave the car running and pop the hood, you can also hear little clicks that sound like sparks that go on at the same time it idols or whatever. But thats not the only problem, after you've been driving it for a while it completely dies while your driving and everything shuts down exept for the lights in the car. But the lights in the car go wacko, and start popping up all those signs like CHECK ENGINE and OIL and GAS and whatever. After it dies you either can start it right back up, and sometimes you can't... so you have to wait. It seems like the longer you wait the greater the chance on how far you can drive it after you start it back up again. If you don't wait a while... most likely it will go for about 1-2 blocks and die again. It's Really Wierd, and It's driving me crazy. I know for a fact it's not the Battery, and Fuel Pump... And I am sick of paying a butt load for a car that doesn't seem to work in the end anyways... Anyone have a solution and/or suggestion... thanks
It doesn't sound like you've had the car at knowledgeable mechanics - they tried the hit and miss approach just guessing it may be a certain part and replaced it.
If it a problem with idle speed, then it's likely a bad or dirty Idle Speed Control (ISC) valve, which can most often be corrected by cleaning with carb cleaner.

But if it starts back up without needing to charge the battery, then it's more likely a bad connection - check the battery main B+ connections and the B- ground connections.

Ok...this is going to sound really dumb...but it worked! I talked to my proffesor who fixed jet engines for 6 years, and he said that to fix this problem (because he's incountered it 3 times before) Soak you Battery Cables that connect to the battery in COKE...Yes Coke for about 5-10 minutes then get a dry towel/papertowel and dry them and let it sit for another 5-10 minutes or until completly dry. Then Hook the Negative to the battery FIRST not Second FIRST! And make sure you have a tight steady connection when your done. DONT CONNECT THE POSITIVE YET, LEAVE THE POSITIVE OFF THE BATTERY SO YOU CAN DO THIS NEXT PART!!!! After that you will need to reset your cars ECU (Engine Control Unit). Make sure you only have the negative cord connecting to your battery not positive. Now jump in your car and HOLD THE BRAKES DOWN, and put your EMERGENCY BRAKES ON!!! Now make sure your holding the brakes down and turn the key like your going to start the car, It will make no noise of course because your not connected on both battery cords. But It Resets the ECU.. Once you do that WALA you RESET YOUR CARS ECU. Now Go reconnect the Postive Terminal and Make sure you have a steady connenction and You should be good to go. Overall All I did was Cleaned the Battery Connecters, Reset your cars ECU, and Reconnected the Positive Batttery Connecter......Easy Fix Hope this works for anyone else out there...It Worked For ME!!!! Thanx for helping guys, but I found this one on my own!!!
Crap...It died after we drove it for about 2 hours...it died....and wont start back up unless we let it wait again...nvm...that wasn't the cure...anymore Ideas....
I still say get the battery and altenator checked. The altenator could be overheating and making the car die. Then just waiting a few mintues let it cool down to restart
