Unhappy temp above normal

I have two 1996 Kia Sephia, one auto and the other manual, and the my problem is that during the summer, they somehow over heat. The temperature is usually above normal, and at times comes close to the redline. I have checked just about everything that I can think of. Antifreeze mixture is normal, the thermo is working, no head gasket leaking, rad cap is working properly, all radiator lines working perfectly, I've cleaned the radiator and checked that there are no obstructions in the way, the hoses seem to be in good condition....etc. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

The front of the radiator is hard to inspect because of the condenser coil. The back is hard to inspect because of the fans and cowling.
The fins can corrode bocking air flow. If you didn't check it when you cleaned it that is.

The only thing you didn't mention in your list of checks is the cooling fan and its thermal switch - take note if the cooling fan is running when the temp goes above normal.

Does it overheat at highway speed or only in traffic - if only in traffic its likely a problem with the cooling fan.

I made sure that the cooling fan was properly running when it hit the correct temperature. But I will look into the water pump. It only overheats on a very hot day and since the days are cooling off, it's not as bad as it was. Whats weird about it is, both Kias do the same thing. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you...

I have 1997 sephia and I had the same problem. I did every thing I could do(checked water pump, fan, acid clean, etc.) but it didn't work. After replacing the radiator and the thermostat now works like a new car. Sections of the radiator coil was cloged and the cooling capacity wasn't enought.

Thank you for that reply, I certainly will place a new or good used radiator into the kia. Hope that will solve the problem.
