Question Engine unlock remote

Hello all, this is something that bothers many sephia owners here where I live (Croatia, Europe) and it's interesting that nobody posted a similar question. Anyhow, with my kia (1.5 slx 5 door) I got two keys with a remote control. I guess it can lock/unlock the car doors if the car is equipped with that system, but in my case it only locks/unlocks the engine. Basically, without that remote I can't turn on the car. The car has always had a problem (not only mine) that those remotes would somehow "lose a code" so I'd have to reprogram them in a car service. There's also a way of "typing" a code by feet using an accelerator pedal. So, the ideal situation would be if I could somehow bypass that security mechanism. Has anyone discovered something of that kind? I mean, one of those remotes died few years ago and I only have one, and here, a spare one costs way too much (around 200 dollars).

Also, in car papers it is said that the year of production is 1998, but given the fact about the engine displacement and overall look, it's definitely the first generation. Anyone knows something about that?

Thank you all,

Bruno

Default sephia immobilizer

Hello there in Croatia
i am from Denmark. i have had 2 Sephia´s. i am driving the seccond now. mine is allso 1,5. this one allso has the remote, but min controls doorlocks and engine immobilizer. the key fobs are very bad, sp i would very much like to have the immobilizer function disconnected... but how. i am a tech that works with cars every day, so if i could only find some info about this system i think i could find a way. i have found some original kia diagrams, but they are for US market- and i think this immobilizer is only for EU.
let me know if you find something.
