i have a 97 kia that wont run worth a crap. one day i turned it off and it was really stubborn to get started. i only have 1 code in the computer. Crank Sensor circuit malfunction. when i can get the car to start it runs like the timing is off. so i pulled apart the entire dash today in search of the faulty wiring. i traced the 3 wires to a silver box labeled EGI. from the EGI i tested the continuity of the two hot wires to the sensor directly. both were hot. the ground looked as if someone had had this problem before. it was cutt off at both ends and was spliced back together with a seperate wire. i didn't think this was a big deal and simply checked the connections and reset the ground itself. after all of this i am no farther. just completely disgusted with this car.... can anyone help me?
