Alternator Issues

Im based in England and I own an old but fantastically wonderful Kia Mentor (or Sephia in the States)

It's an old 1.5 SLX, but I think the alternator is broken as I put a fresh battery in the other day and it went flat after one days driving.

Ive tried to remove the old alternator but it's really proviong a problem to remove.

Are there any links on the net or guides on the forum on how to do a replacement and how much am I expecting to pay for a new one.

Im at the end of my patience as I need my car back on the road soon!

well to get alt off you must lossen belt tensioner on top of alt. dont take off
take off the bolt on top of alt holding it to car.
then under the alt there iis another bolt to take off
take belt off and alt out.
reassemble done.
if going to dealer expect to pay about 120-150 bucks.
