Hi all
My Picanto is now coming up for 4 weeks old and has covered 2100km.
On a Recent trip around the East coast of the North island of New Zealand the car averaged 16.39 km/l or 6.10L/100km. The worst consumption was 15.08 km/l and the best 18.14 km/l.
The car is a 1.1L manual it had two adult occupants and all their luggage for a two week camping/backpacking holiday.
I drive, when appropriate (motorways open country) at between 105km/h and 115km/h.
The trip involved a huge range of driving conditions from straight flat roads to wickedly twisty mountain passes. I was admittedly not the fastest vehicle on the road, but neither was I the slowest by any margin. I did switch off the air conditioning when climbing steep gradients and when overtaking, but otherwise it remained on for the whole time.
I am really thrilled with my new car! My previous car was a european 2 litre coupe and although I did occasionally miss the extra 100 bhp I used to have, that was all I missed.
Drive safely
Zoot
