the fuel pump may be the culprit (but your car must not be able to restart after this since the 2 mins is supposed to be the fuel reserve in the carb). try to change your fuel filter...also you might want to check if there is water in your fuel filter. if yes, then your fuel tank has a hole somewhere through which moisture / water seeps / condenses through. usually the hole is located in the steel pipe from the fuel intake leading to the fuel tank. this pipe is located behind the left rear wheel where mud / dirt and water are kicked up from the tires all the time.
