Your offset is too much. If you didn't know then it's the distance between where the center of the wheel is and the outside lip. I know on my Spectra the offset is +40. I fit 17X7 inch rims with a +42 offset which pushed the wheel out for a little more tract width. I still had almost 3/4 of an inch left till I hit the 1/4 panel. Depending on the rim you can even get a nice lip on your rims if you figure out the offset you can run.
