Hi Krtorio;

As an intro, A CD5 is what we wanted for our first car but we ended up with an LX Sedan, but most mechanics say, all parts and structure of the CD5 are just the same with an LX....the only difference is the design. one is a hatchback and the other a sedan. but regarding your problem, i'd suggest you bring it to a well trained mechanic. the sort that has extensive experience when it comes to engine problems. Your officemates may be right with the loose compression. Maybe when your mom bought the car, the seller didn't rev the engine. as long as it starts, its was ok.secondly, regarding the oil, maybe the oil filter is just loose....but if the leak is around...maybe the engine should be checked for leaks (or "singaw" as we call it here in the phils.). Its a major problem...but it can be easily be solutioned by an experienced engine mechanic. Before, our mechanic is good when it comes to engines but unfortunately, he has long retired due to health problems. My dilemma today is finding the mechanic who reaches the expertise of a pro. Pride's are easy to repair since their design are general and the availability of it are everywhere...goodluck :-)
