Don't forget, it also looks at the outside air temperature, I don't know what values the PID controller is set at, but I am assuming there would be a 'low limit' temperature to 'hold off ' the air con, along with a 'deadband' to stop the unit constantly switching from heating - cooling. Also remember the unit is trying to control the humidity as well (the temp sensor & humidity sensor are both behind the slotted vent to the left of the steering column). I can only presume that the unit is set to control the humidity at 50%RH as there is no adjustment.

It has been a bit 'warmer' here today, 23'C, so I put my Air Con on fully Auto, set the temp to 18'C and it cooled the car within a few minutes, I had to turn it up as I was getting a 'chill'.

'Comfort' level (UK) is 20'C and 50%RH, and the Cee'd will control at that no problem.

BTW, I am a HVAC controls engineer.
