I agree, its the dealer. that behavior is ridiculous. Try Trento Kia, I have used the for years and they are excellent. Ask for Jovert and say Byron sent you. He will take care of you. BTW, I was thinking in the beginning of your description that it was an electrical problem. something electrical controlling the trans is not functioning. If it was really the mechanical aspect of the tranny, it would have fried by now after all the driving you did with it while it was not working correctly. And has anyone ever used a scantool on the thing, it seems like the first thing to do. Get one of your family to scan it or another shop and we will tell you what the codes mean on this site. I have the manual and will give you the problem and repair procedures if you have the codes.
