Question

I bought a 2002 Kia Sportage last week, and am doing a few minor things to it.
the coolant was showing some rust color, so I flushed the system and replaced the coolant with new 50/50 antifreeze mix.
beofre, and while running it with a flushing agent, no unusual lights came of. Now, the next day after, the Check engine light came on and stays on. the engine is not overheatting, and seems to run fine.
I need to recheck the actual level of coolant in the radiator (forgot to do that earlier, and too amny mosquitoes out there now).
Evidently there are amny sensors that can make the darned light come on. In fact, some cars used to have a similar light that would say service engine soon, and many of those had to be reset after a certain mileage came up on the odometer.
Does Kia have such a reset? Where might it be if so?
Also, the battery and brake indicators tend to glow slightly part of the time. Charging voltage seems to be okay.
I'm thinking maybe a ground problem with those lights. Or possibly needing a new alternator belt (I plan to replace all 3 belts anyway, to be sure of what I have.
Vehicle has 104,000+ miles on it.
Odometer reads slightly slow as well.

Exhust gases leaking from the crack in the header will seap into the cabin, one day you'll be driving on a long road trip the gasses will build up, you'll feel sleepy, fall asleep drive off the road hit a bus full of nuns and kill not only yourself but others! And since you knowingly drove with a defective vehicle, youre insurance company can wash their hands of you, you would be charged with negligible homicide if you killed another person, leaving you and your family ruined!

Or you could get it fixed correctly!

Yes it can be welded depending on where the crack is. And a used one should not run you over $50 from a wreakers yard, and take an afternoon to replace.
