Raven1210, I'm glad to hear that maybe this is a common break-in problem with some automatic transmissions. If anyone is following this post, I'm happy to report that I am no longer experiencing this problem with our transmission. It had only slipped those two times (within about a week of each other). At that time, the van only had a few thousand miles on it and we were still taking it pretty easy with the engine. Still, I am surprised that it had slipped. When it had occured, the engine was not floored, just given enough to kick it down so that we could merge into traffic on a short on-ramp. We are now closing in on 6000 miles (we don't drive it very far), and are happy with the van again. Even though the dealer didn't look too hard into our problem initially, they did come through and signed a letter for us that if it slipped again, we could call them and they would come have KIA tow it to their dealership and provide a free loaner car to us until they figured out the problem. That seemed pretty fair. I recently tried to re-create the slip again but couln't get it to happen again. I still believe that the 2006+ Sedona is a tremendous value and overall a pretty good minivan. I'm hoping that it will continue to be reliable from here out.
