My sister-in-law was learning how to drive in my Sedona. She took out a mail box and knocked the mirror (glass only) off the van and put a large dent in the hood. There should be a white ring onn the black plastic part that has the glass on it. It is attatched to the plastic backing with little clamps. It is a pain to get off. The ball that you are talking about has a spring and a clip attached to it. You have to attatch the ball to the white ring first and then on mirror support by pushing the clip in and rotating it. There are also three plastic screws that adjust the mirror. Those have to be attatched to the mirror assembly on the van before you put the new glass on. Line up the screws to the holes on the black plastic (glass) and then push on the mirror to attach it to the ring. That should do it. Good luck with finding the pieces you need.
